Our programme of visits for summer 2024:

All visits must be booked: mhs@mertonhistoricalsociety.org.uk

9 August – 11.30am: A Visit to Merton Priory Chapter House led by John Hawks (open from 11am), followed by a conducted tour of the historic buildings at Merton Abbey Mills led by David Luff. Some of us will be having lunch together nearby between the two visits. Why not join us?

20 September – 2pm: A Visit to St Bartholomew Church, West Smithfield, EC1A 9DS, led by Richard Smart

Monthly talks

Our monthly talks are normally held on the second Saturday of the month from October to April

AGM followed by Members’ Talks

Saturday 14 December 2024 at 2.30pm
‘West Barnes and Motspur Park 1920–1940’ – a talk by Toby Ewin

Visitors are welcome to attend our meetings. There is no charge.

Local History Workshops

Our Workshops provide an opportunity for members to share current interests and research, to exchange ideas and to seek help and advice.

All are welcome at these Friday afternoon sessions from 2.30pm to 4.30pm, whether you wish to contribute, to ask questions, or just to listen!
